Have you looked at your teen and thought:

  • "Why don't they value their stuff?"
  • "What's it going to take to get them to value money?"
  • "How many times do I have to say no that's too expensive?"
  • "I wish I had a nickel for every time I thought they want $20 again?"

Myth:  My teen doesn't understand the value of a dollar

Truth:  They DO understand - but is it the right definition

Why does this matter?  Odds are high that your teen doesn't have the right concept of a dollar.  Not attaching the right concept to money easily leads to living paycheck to paycheck, debt, spending on less than needed items before necessities.   Teaching this concept isn't something you just want to leave to the school of hard knocks if you can help it.

Imagine your teen having an appreciation of what they are given, what it takes to feed, cloth, and more.

Today, you'll hear about "Mark", and his amazing money journey.  Hint: you'll learn 2 methods to teaching your teen the value a dollar.  Yes, there are ways to show them how to appreciate money and the time it takes to earn it.

HERE In this podcast, we will talk about:

  • [0:00] How your teen might have received the wrong money value message
  • [1:37] Mark's story and your listener challenge
  • [3:35] 100 Money Ideas
  • [4:18] What to say each time they ask for money
  • [5:30] The ultimate "value of money" method

Don't you just love what Mark and his Mom did?  While I can't guarantee results like Mark, I do know that every lesson we teach our teens before they are in the real world is likely a pitfall they can bypass as a young adult.  Our kids are worth it, aren't they.

As we always say . . .
