The time to help your "almost grown" learn how to put their best foot forward - is NOW.  

Have you ever watched your child introduce themselves to others?    OR . . .  Watch them as someone is introducing themselves to your child?

If you do, you'll likely notice that they stumble through it.  

Here's the thing, they need learn how to do it effectively.  It is so much more than "Hello, my name is...".   You want them to feel confident, look confident, and to put the person they are introducing themselves to at ease.  Your child deserves to be remembered after the introduction.  You might call this "networking", but that's not quite accurate.  It's more like "life-working".  

Just in case you are thinking it is too...

• You. And along with your decision comes a big helping of frustration and eyerolls. 
• OR they just join one or more without knowing the gravity of the decision they've just made.

Does it have to happen quite that way?  There is a way to achieve parent (and your child's goals) thru a 3rd method.

• OR "money is easy to come up with"
• OR "you aren't able to figure this want/need out for yourself."

Odds are high that you learned them by watching others.  Don't you wish you'd learned some of the basics earlier than you did?  Of course.

Your teen is in exactly the right spot to learn how to learn something crucial.  Some might describe it as "the" basic networking skill.  I won't argue with them.
